How Long does a newborn session go for and other information:
What to Expect
I may spend up to 3 hours photographing your baby, this allows enough time for your baby to Feed, for me to clean up messes and to settle your baby if needed. It also accounts for changing setups for different props and poses.
Your baby will be photographed naked, wrapped and with newborn outfits provided by myself so please do not bring outfits for the baby. Most clothing items will swallow your baby. I believe it is by capturing the innocence of a nude baby that makes them ever sweet and pure, just as nature delivered them to us.
Siblings
If you live locally and you and your partner have 2 vehicles I do always suggest to bring both so we can get dad/family/couples and siblings shots done first, then if needed dad can take sibling as it is a long time and does get very boring for them. Also gives mum a chance to relax and enjoy the experience I offer.
What to do before your scheduled session
• Give your baby a sponge bath and don’t forget the lotion
• Put clothing and diaper on loosely to avoid red marks. A onesie that zips in the is easiest to take off and is less disturbing to your baby.
• Grab a pacifier even if you do not plan on letting your baby use one. Pacifiers help soothe babies and will make the session go much smoother.
Please feed your baby before you leave home. Most babies will fall asleep in the car. If your little one wakes up hungry, I ask that you feed them to get a nice fully belly. With the poses I do a sleepy baby is required. I will never place your baby in an unsafe position just to get a pose. Your baby’s safety is the most important thing to me. As soon as your baby falls asleep, I ask that you allow me to take over knowing that I will ask if your help is required. Babies can smell mums milk and this can interfere with a settled baby. You will be able to watch me mould your baby into different positions from the comfort of a couch.
